he Funk Prairie Home and Gem & Mineral Museum is a non-profit, privately owned and administered by the Paul A. Funk Foundation. Isaac Funk, the family patriarch, settled in Funks Grove in 1824 and amassed 25,000 acres of land. Our site is located on land inherited from the original estate. It includes the Civil War era farm house of LaFayette and Elizabeth Funk, the horse barn and outbuildings, the Funk Gem & Mineral Museum of LaFayette II, and an antique farm implement showroom. We welcome thousands of visitors each year. Our mission is to honor and preserve the past and to educate present and future generations.
